One person was injured in the clashes in Sopore while another was injured in Anantnag town.

At least five persons were injured on Tuesday in clashes between security forces and small groups of youth protesting against the Israeli offensive in Gaza strip soon after the Eid ul Fitr prayers in Kashmir, police said.

“Three persons including a photojournalist were injured in clashes between stone pelting youth and law enforcing agencies soon after the Eid prayers at Safakadal near Idgah in downtown city,” a police spokesman said.

The clashes broke out as the youth started pelting stones on security forces posted on law and order duty, he said. Law enforcing agencies fired several rounds of tear smoke shells to chase away the protesters, police said, adding the situation was brought under control in a couple of hours.
