Senior IPS officer Mayank Jain was suspended by the Madhya Pradesh government following recovery of alleged disproportionate assets from his possession by the Lokayukta Police. The suspension order was issued on Saturday by the state government, official sources said on Sunday. The Lokayukta Police had last month raided the residence of Jain, who was posted as Inspector General, Community Policing at Bhopal, after getting reports that he allegedly amassed huge wealth in his and his family members’ name which was disproportionate to his known sources of income. The 1995 batch officer is the first IPS in the state to be suspended on the issue of corruption case, sources said.
