The J-K government has initiated the process for appointment of a Chief Information Commissioner and two Commissioners for implementation of Right to Information Act in the state,the Legislative Council was informed today in a written answer today. The state government had enacted a law early this year for constitution of the Information Commission. The Information Commissioners would be appointed by the Governor on the recommendations of the select committee headed by Chief Minister. The other members will the leader of opposition and a cabinet minister to be nominated by the CM.
