Facing corruption charges,an IAF pilot currently on deputation to Rajasthan has been ordered to revert back to the Air Force, failing which he has been threatened with disciplinary action including a break in service.

In a strongly worded departmental order issued on March 26,the IAF has asked Rajasthan to immediately revert Wing Commander A K Sharma, who pilots the state Government aircraft, and told him to join duty at Air Headquarters in New Delhi before April 11.

IAF Joint Director Personnel-Officers (Deputation) Wing Commander V Banerjee said in the order that if Sharma failed to join duty by the deadline,he would face disciplinary action resulting in break in service, affecting his seniority and post-retirement benefits.

The order also directed the state Government to divest Sharma of all his responsibilities, saying no further request for extension of his services would be entertained.

The IAF has been requesting the state Government to revert Sharma back to his parent organisation since last year, but despite a series of letters,he is the only Air Force pilot still continuing on deputation with Rajasthan.
