A property dispute between two brothers sparked off a gunfight that left five people,including a woman and her child,with bullet injuries,in Haryanas Jhajjar district on Saturday. All five have been referred to Rohtaks Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences,where doctors said that they are all stable.
According to police,the incident took place at Jakhoda village in Jhajjar district on Saturday morning. They added that Ramal Singh and his brother Balbir Singh,at the heart of the dispute,have clashed several times in the past few years over property.
An investigating officer said that on Saturday morning,Ramal Singh and his family were having breakfast when Balbir Singh and his kin barged into their house and began arguing with them.
At this Balbir Singh and his family members took out their rifles and guns and opened indiscriminate fire. Ramal Singhs family also reacted in the same fashion. In the exchange of fire,five people including Ramal Singh,Suresh,Poonam,Ravinder and Karamjit sustained injuries. All have been admitted to PGIMS at Rohtak and are out of danger. A case has been registered against Balbir and his accomplices. Raids are on to arrest the absconding accused, the officer added.
