Gujarat minister’s son backs demand for quota

The Patel youths have been organising rallies demanding OBC status for the community and reservation benefits.

Gujarat minister Nanubhai Vanani’s son Vipul has come out in support of the demand for OBC status and reservation benefits by the Patidars, even as the state government recently withdrew its nod for a rally by the community in Mehsana district.

While the government is yet to take a stand on their demand, Vipul posted a “logo” of the group spearheading the Patidar or Patel agitation on his Facebook page and “liked” several newspaper articles on the issue.
