Government to acquire 5,000 more bullet-proof vests

Having acquired 2,000 bullet-proof vests for its security personnel from the Centre,the state government is in the process of buying another 5,000 through a tender. Minister of State for Home Satej Patil told the legislative council Monday while the process of acquiring 2,000 vests was complete,a tender for 5,000 jackets was being prepared. “2,000 jackets are now available with the government. Commercial bids for 5,000 additional jackets were opened recently and we will soon shortlist the bidder,” he said.
