Girl found dead under mysterious circumstances

An MSc Biotechnology student at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a ground near Environment Block of the university on Tuesday.

Police said that prime facie it appeared to be a case of suicide but they are also investigating if the victim,Inderpreet Kaur,was pushed from the fourth floor of the building.

Cantonment Station House Officer (SHO) Sohan Singh said that the girl was 22 to 23 years old and was a resident of Bhagtanwala. Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide but the cause of her death is not yet known. No suicide note has been found either. We are also investigating whether she was pushed to her death, the SHO added. Her parents were informed about the incident at about 4:15 pm. She was rushed to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital where doctors declared her dead at 4:36 pm, Singh said.
