CPM team meets Chandrasekharan killers in jail

Chandrasekharan’s widow Rama said the CPM fears the criminals would divulge details about the involvement of senior leaders.

Bringing to fore the party’s alleged links with criminal gangs, a CPM delegation led by politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Saturday met the seven-member killer group convicted in the murder of party rebel leader T P Chandrasekharan. The visit to Central prison in Thissur came after the complaint from the convicts that they were tortured by jail wardens.

On Saturday, Balakrishnan, party Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan and other leaders visited the convicted supari team, saying this was a party decision. Chandrasekharan’s widow Rama said the CPM fears the criminals would divulge details about the involvement of senior leaders.
