Prasad said though Bihar would not gain anything from the special status, the Bihar CM should ask Sonia Gandhi and then UPA ally Lalu Prasad on the special status before directing its ire at the NDA government that has announced “a mega package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore incorporating all benefits and multifold sum a special category status can get a state”.

Reiterating the party’s position on reservation after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, Prasad said: “There is no question of dithering from constitutional norms on reservation. There is provision for reservation for OBC and SC/ST and it would continue as usual.”

Asked if there should be an economic criterion for reservation, the minister said: “There will be no change.”
