Three days after being sworn in,Chief Justice of Orissa High Court,Justice Bilal Nazki today retired from the high office.
Justice Nazki,who was administered oath of office by Governor M C Bhadare on November 14,attended office for only two days. As November 15 was a Sunday,Justice Nazki attended the office on Monday before retiring this afternoon.
The CJ disposed about 100 cases on his last day of work. Though he was interested to dispose more cases,the officials could not make all the documents ready, a court official said.
While Justice Nazki was the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court for only four days,Justice G K Mishra was the longest serving Chief Justice of the court,sources said.
As Justice Nazki retires from Orissa,he will be entitled to get retirement benefits from the state.
Justice Nazki was likely to be appointed as the Chairman of the State Human Rights Commission in Jammu and Kashmir.
