CBI grills Koda over coal block allocations

The previous government of Arjun Munda was against allocating coal blocks to these two firms.

The CBI recently questioned former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda in connection with the allocation of two coal blocks, including the one given to Congress MP Naveen Jindal’s company.

The agency said that Koda was grilled in New Delhi for his alleged role in the allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block in Birbhum and Rajhara North block in Jharkhand, allocated to Vini Iron and Steel Udyog.

The CBI asked Koda why the then Jharkhand government led by him had recommended coal blocks to the two firms despite red flags being raised. The previous government of Arjun Munda was against allocating coal blocks to these two firms.
