Cabinet gives nod to revised pay scales for Bihar govt staff

The arrears accruing on this head between April 1,2007 and December 31,2008 would be cleared in five equal instalments,while the employees who retired during the period would receive their arrears by 2010-11,Shankar said.

Similarly,the state government employees would be eligible for 20 per cent HRA for B-1 type cities like Patna,10 per cent for C-type towns and 7.5 per cent for rural areas.

Shankar said the state employees would also be entitled to transport allowance at Rs 1000 for B1 type cities,Rs700 for C type cities and Rs 400 for those posted in rural areas,besides every employee would get Medical allowance of Rs 200 per month against existing Rs 100 per month and education allowance to the tune of Rs 200 per month.

The employees would also be entitled for Leave Travel Concessions twice in their service period and one third of their pay scales for their transfer from one district to another,he added.

The cabinet decided to bring into force the Modified Assured Career Promotion Scheme with effect from January 1,2009 making the employees eligible for promotion after every ten years of their services,Shanakr said.

Similarly,the cabinet also raised the allowances of constables who would now receive ration allowance of Rs 1000 from Rs 612 per month,besides washing allowances.
