Kaimur Deputy Superintendent of Police has accused district Superintendent of Police Pushkar Anand, a 2009 batch IAS officer, of sexually exploiting her after promising to marry her.
Though the SP called the allegation “a conspiracy to tarnish his image”, the state DGP PK Thakur set up a three-member team under Inspector General of Police (headquarters) Anupama Nilekar to probe the allegation.
The DSP (identity protected) lodged complaint with women police station on Monday evening alleging the SP Anand had promised her of marriage, but had backtracked on his promise and threatened her of destroying her career.
She also alleged that the SP had been sending her messages on WhatsApp. The FIR was lodged and the police headquarters set up three-member team including IG Nilekar, additional IG (welfare) Rajesh Kumar and SP (CID, weaker sections, Harpreet Kaur.
SP Pushkar Anand, however, gave an altogether different version. “She had been putting pressure on me to remove the name of a senior police officer from a case. Since I did not oblige, she lodged the case against me tarnish my image”, said the SP, who may be transferred along with the woman DSP.
DGP PK Thakur said: “As soon as I learnt about it, we took prompt action. The matter will be thoroughly investigated to know the truth”.
