Attempts to defame MP won’t succeed: Chouhan

Announcing a slew of schemes in his Independence Day speech, the CM claimed that he was the whistleblower and claimed there were bigger irregularities in other states.

With the Vyapam issue still on his mind, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Saturday said an attempt was being made to defame Madhya Pradesh as the land of death but the conspiracy would not succeed.

Announcing a slew of schemes in his Independence Day speech, the CM claimed that he was the whistleblower and claimed there were bigger irregularities in other states. In Madhya Pradesh, he said, those involved in irregularities in education sector were sent to jail.

He said his government would come out with a law to ensure a house for every poor person, and added that no person will be displaced without making alternate arrangements.

The CM announced setting up of a land reforms commission to consider various issues related to management of land of small, marginal farmers and landless labourers.

The state government will give 10 per cent subsidy to farmers on loan for purchase of seeds and fertilisers, he said, and reiterated his announcement about a new crop insurance policy to ensure minimum income for farmers in case of crop loss due to natural calamities.
