Expressing shock over the Central government’s affidavit in Supreme Court on black money issue, activist Anna Hazare has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hazare writes, “if there are legal hurdles, Modi should have thought about them before promising people to act on black money during his election campaign.”
He expressed shock over government’s inability to divulge names of Swiss bank account holders.
“In five months of Modi government, it has hardly done anything on appointing Lokpal or dealing with black money. People have now started to suspect if the slogan of ‘Corruption Free India’ was only a poll technique. People of India know by experience that only talking can’t lead to a positive change. It should be backed by action”, he writes.
Not withstanding the legal issues, the government should declare the names of people holding accounts in foreign banks, writes Anna Hazare.
However, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday rejected the charge of U-turn in the black money.
He said that govt will not be pushed into adventurism that may jeopardise cooperation from other countries on getting names of black money holders
