New Railway Line in Rajasthan: The national transporter has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new 72-km rail line from Marwar Junction to Devgarh Madaria via Todgarh–Ravali.
Railway project in Rajasthan: Indian Railways (IR) has sanctioned the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new rail line connecting Marwar Junction, a key tourist destination in Rajasthan to Devgarh Madaria via Todgarh-Ravali. The move will further strengthen rail rail connectivity in the region. The area falls under the administrative control of North Western Railway (NWR).

The national transporter has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new 72-km rail line from Marwar Junction to Devgarh Madaria via Todgarh–Ravali. The proposed line will enhance connectivity for Rajsamand, Udaipur, Pali, and nearby regions, while also strengthening the rail link between Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
Significance of new rail line from Devgarh Madaria to Marwar Junction
Tourist destinations such as Devgarh Madaria and Todgarh have so far relied on limited transport options. The proposed rail line is expected to play an important role in integrating these regions with the broader railway network.

In a statement, NWR said: “The construction of this new rail line will facilitate rail access to historical and natural tourist destinations like Todgarh and Devgarh. It will also provide new transportation options for trade, agriculture, and local industries.”
After completion of Final Location Survey (FLS) for 72 km new line Marwar Junction – Devgarh Madaria via Todgarh – Rawli, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared on the basis of financial and technical feasibility of the project and will be sent to Railway Board for approval.
Nathdwara-Devgarh Madaria rail line
Meanwhile, the gauge conversion work on the 82-kilometer Nathdwara-Devgarh Madaria rail line is underway at a cost of Rs 969 crore. These works will provide direct connectivity to the region with major cities across the country, including Jaipur, Delhi, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.
