Amidst tension at LoC,BSF and Pak Rangers exchange sweets before Independence Day

Border guards from both the countries hugged and shook hands with each other.

Indian and Pakistani security force personnel on Wednesday exchanged sweets at the Attari border on the eve of Independence Day.

Border guards from both the countries hugged and shook hands with each other in a cordial atmosphere despite tension along the LoC in Jammu region.

BSF DIG M F Farooqi received boxes of sweets from the Pakistan Rangers,officials said.

The BSF and Pakistani Rangers often exchange sweets on occasions like Eid,Diwali,Holi,the Independence Day and the Republic Day as a goodwill gesture.

Violating the ceasefire for the ninth time in the past four days,Pakistani soldiers today targeted Indian forward posts along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir resulting in heavy exchange of fire.
