Aligarh Muslim University cancels MBBS entrance

The decision was taken during a special meeting of the AMU executive committee.

After getting several complaints of irregularities, the Aligarh Muslim University on Thursday decided to cancel the entrance examination for MBBS/ BDS for the year 2015-16 held on April 26 and ordered to conduct a fresh entrance examination in the first week of August.

The decision was taken during a special meeting of the AMU executive committee.

AMU’s pro vice-chancellor Rahat Abrar said that a three-member committee had been constituted to conduct the inquiry into the matter which submitted its report to the committee. It was reported that a large number of candidates got selected from a single centre in Kerala giving rise to suspicion of mass copying.

“It was possible that hi-tech computer applications might have been used for cheating at this centre,” Abrar said.
