30-year-old booked for repeated rape of minor

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by her 30-year-old neighbour since October last year and forced to consume medicines by him to terminate her pregnancy after she had conceived.

An FIR was registered against the accused Wednesday on a complaint by the victim’s mother who approached police after the girl’s condition worsened two days ago. The girl is reportedly stable now.

The incident has been reported from Kanjasa under Ghoorpur police station area.

The accused, Raj Kumar, who works on boats ferrying people across Yamuna, is absconding.

SP (crime), Arun Kumar Pandey, said: “The victim and her mother approached me on Tuesday.”
