Australia today said Pakistan should adopt a responsible attitude with regard to the Mumbai terror carnage and put on trial those found involved in such a crime. We expect Pakistan to adopt a responsible attitude with regard to anyone who indulges in cruelty in a criminally motivated manner such as the attack in Mumbai, Australian High Commissioner to India John McCarthy told reporters here. We expect Pakistan to arrest anyone involved in such a crime and put him on trial, he said addding Australia was opposed to terrorism in all its manifestations. The High Commissioner said Australia was also opposed to crime on the basis of religion. He said strong anti-nuclear sentiments prevailed in Australia, adding with the Labour Party coming to power in the country, there might be a rethink on supply of Uranium to nations which have not signed the NPT. This policy is not particularly aimed at India, but is a product of perception among Australians on nuke issues, McCarthy said. He said the supply of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to India might become a reality in future. The two countries may have an agreement on supply of LNG to India by 2013-14, McCarthy said.
