Two thieves heaved a brief sigh of relief after scaling a wall, only to realise they had landed up in a police station.
The two young men ran into the police station in west Delhi this evening while being chased by their victim who feigned unconsciousness after he was attacked by them.
The incident took place when two thieves, around 20-years-old,jumped a wall to escape a youth chasing them and landed in the police station.
“It all started in Shivaji Park in Punjabi Bagh around 5.30 pm when Deepak and Ravinder allegedly attacked Heeralal,a labourer, while he was entering a public toilet. Armed with knives, they muffled Heeralal. But Heeralal suddenly feigned unconsciousness. The duo left him fearing that they will land in more trouble and moved on,” a senior police official said.
As Heeralal found that Deepak and Ravinder were at a safe distance,he suddenly stood up,raised an alarm and started chasing them, the official said.
Fearing they would be caught them, they began running with Heeralal following.
“At one point, they reached a dead-end. There was nothing but a wall. They scaled the wall and jumped into a compound not knowing it was a police station. They were arrested,” the official said.
Deepak is declared a ruffian by police. Both Deepak and Ravinder reside in Shakurpur.
