In the wake of ongoing power crisis in the state,Haryana Power Utilities has decided to begin a round-the-clock facility for redressing peoples complaints. A decision to this effect taken in a meeting held by the management of electricity distribution and public representatives at Rewari on Thursday.
The senior officials of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) have also been asked to visit their field areas frequently.
The officers have been asked to ensure regular power supply during the schedule. The Nigams have increased time of power supply for rural domestic sector to 11 hours. Villages would now get supply from 6.30 pm,which was earlier being given from 7.30 pm. said Devender Singh,chairman-cum-managing director,Haryana Power Distribution Utilities.
A spokesperson of UHBVN said,the directors,chief engineers,superintending engineers,executive engineers,sub-divisional officers and junior engineers of the Nigam will visit their areas frequently. A roster of their tour programme shall be displayed on the UHBVNs website.
Singh also instructed the directors and chief engineers to visit two villages in atleast two sub-divisions every month. Superintending engineers,executive engineers and sub- divisional officers have been asked to visit three villages,while junior engineers will have to cover all villages in a months time. Each of them will interact with the locals and redress their grievances on the spot. The record of the pending complaints for subsequent redressal will be maintained by them, he said.
The nigam has also directed superintending engineers to prepare comprehensive loss reduction plans for implementation in their operation circles.
The sub-divisional officers will constitute two special teams in sub-divisions for carrying out preventive maintenance of the local distribution system. Each team will ensure maintenance of five distribution transformers every week,he said,adding this would help minimise damage of distribution transformers and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
On augmentation of power transmission system for industries in Bawal,Singh said that the already approved work would be completed in minimum possible time.
