You have holy mail! Ravi Shankar Prasad wants to send Gangajal by post

To contribute to the BJP-led NDA government’s attempts to strengthen the foundation of India’s culture, Union Communication and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has decided that holy Gangajal will be distributed through the postal service.

“I used to get several requests that with the vast network of post can we get Ganga water. I have directed Department of Posts to utilise e-commerce platform and make arrangement for providing pure Gangajal from Hardwar and Rishikesh to people,” Prasad said on Monday.

“If postman can deliver mobile phones, sarees, jewellery and apparels then why not Ganga water?”

“The postal network have assured that they will take pro-active steps to address cultural underpinning of India,” the minister said. He added that the details will be worked out by the postal department.
