Gangster Nayeemuddin was killed in the police operation. He hails from Nalgonda.
The Telangana police on Monday killed former Naxalite and gangster Nayeemuddin along with his associate in an encounter at Shadnagar, 50 km from Hyderabad. The police received a tip-off that Nayeemuddin would be present at his millenium colony house on Monday following which state’s ‘naxal greyhounds’ carried out the operation.
Reportedly, the millenium township was evacuated late Sunday night by the police. After the police reached the spot, one of his members opened fire at them leading to an encounter which killed two including Nayeemuddin.

A formal naxalite, he was a wanted criminal in more than 100 different cases including murder of IPS officer NS Vyas who was responsible for anti-naxal operations in the area.
He was a former member of the People’s War Group and was reportedly involved in 20 murder cases. He surrendered years ago and later formed his own gang.
Nayeemuddin is an accused in several cases including murder of naxalite leaders Sambasividu, Konapuri Ramulu among others.
Two Telangana MLAs also complained against his extortion and land deals in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. They also alleged that they had received veiled threats from him.
He had also, reportedly, tipped-off the police about Sohrabuddin and his wife’s whereabouts who were later killed in an encounter by Gujarat police.
