Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Sunday demanded that the AAP government immediately form a panel of experts to redress the air pollution problems in a time-bound manner. “The Chief Minister of Delhi should immediately form a committee with national and international experts to make Delhi pollution free in a time-bound manner,” he said in a statement.
Gupta also suggested some measures, including cleaning of roads with world class machines, ample green cover in traffic corridors and an immediate ban on burning of waste and garbage to bring down the pollution level in Delhi.
“The construction material scattered in open also causes pollution. Hence, construction material should be banned in open on roads and pavements,” he said, adding, “Bio-diversity parks should be developed in Delhi and NCR”.
