Pampore encounter: Capt Pawan Kumar’s body reaches native village in Haryana

Earlier on Monday, a wreath laying ceremony was held at the Indian Air Force base at Pathankot in Punjab, from where the body was flown to his hometown.

In view of the Jat stir in Haryana, the Army had appealed to the people of Haryana, to extend support in giving a “befitting farewell” to the brave son of the soil.

Kumar, an officer of the elite Para unit who hailed from Jind, was among two army personnel from the unit who lost their lives in the fierce encounter with militants holed up inside a government building in Pampore town.
