Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned from Rajya Sabha on Monday, is unlikely to be projected as Aam Aadmi Party’s chief minister candidate in Punjab, according to sources.
After his resignation, there was speculation that he could join Aam Aadmi Party and be its face in the Assembly polls next year.
Sources, however, said he will campaign for the party.

Sidhu, who was thrice the Lok Sabha member from the BJP, was asked to step away from contesting the polls in Amritsar during the 2014 general election to make way for fellow member Arun Jaitley.
Both Sidhu and his wife share an uneasy relationship with the Akali leadership and have made open attacks on Akali Dal and its leadership on governance issues.
