Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in home state Gujarat on Friday to attend the events organised for celebrating his 66th birthday. Welcomed by top BJP leaders in the state and over 2,000 party workers, the prime minister thanked them with “all his heart” for “wishing and blessing” him.

Prime Minister Modi started his day by meeting his mother Hiraba in Gandhinagar. On Saturday, various leaders took to Twitter to wish the prime minister on his 66th birthday. President Pranab Mukherjee tweeted: “May the Almighty bless PM @narendramodi with good health, happiness & many more years of dedicated service to the nation. Let this day be the beginning of a year of greater achievements in life of PM narendramodi and our nation.”
