Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s son-in-law has been denied bail by a Delhi court on Friday evening in a case of theft and misappropriation of wife’s property. Syed Mohammad Imran, who was arrested from Bengaluru and brought to New Delhi on transit remand, was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma on Tuesday who had remanded him to police custody till November 17. Imran was sent to one-day judicial custody on Thursday by Delhi’s Patiala House court.

On Tuesday, Delhi Police had sought two days custody of Imran saying they have to recover the articles which he had allegedly stolen. According to police, Dikshit’s daughter, Latika had also accused her husband of subjecting her to violence.
Imran and Latika had got married in 1996 but have been living separately for the past 10 months. Latika filed her complaint in June, where she alleged that her husband’s attitude towards her had changed and that he had become aggressive and rude towards her after her mother lost in the Delhi Assembly elections.
