Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said the panels will include ministers, experts, policymakers and beneficiaries. “It will be specific to the government’s achievements, how it has affected people, what next from here. Since the government has done so much work in so many diverse fields, when you put them all together, it will be a longish programme,” said Rathore.

Case studies will showcase success stories of the Modi government’s schemes such as Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Swachch Bharat, rural electrification programme, Digital India, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

While actor Amitabh Bachchan is expected to speak in the inaugural section on Beti Bachao, the star line-up for the event will include Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor, Kailash Kher and Raveena Tandon. It has been proposed that PM Modi speak towards the end of the show on “a government of firsts”.

A private event management company has conceptualised and executed the event on behalf of the National Film Development Corporation. Regarding the expenditure sanctioned by his ministry for the event, Rathore said, “We have not approved any money. It is a DD programme, they will handle the expenditure.”
