Is there a link between the livestreaming of Parliament’s security system by Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann and the July 16 inter-state council meeting incident when Arvind Kejriwal was not allowed to carry his mobile phone into Rashtrapati Bhawan? There possibly is, Mann reportedly told BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi when she asked him this pointed question during a meeting of the committee probing his conduct.

“Ho sakta hai,” Mann is learnt to have said in his reply to the question from Lekhi.

Kejriwal had publicly aired his resentment over having been stopped from carrying in his cellphone. He had claimed some chief ministers had been allowed to do so while some like him had been stopped.

Committee chairman Kirit Somaiya seemed inclined to seek an extension of two weeks, while some members wanted to dispose of the issue right away and ask Speaker Sumitra Mahajan for more time to deal with the larger security issue. The Speaker had asked the committee to suggest measures to prevent recurrence of such an incident.
