Infiltration attempt, ceasefire violation along border ahead of PM Modi’s J&K visit

In view of the arrival of Prime Minister, BSF and army troops have already been maintaining high alert along the borders with Pakistan.

Barely a few hours before the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning, BSF troops in Samba sector foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists from Pakistan side.

Sources said that alert BSF troops at Chilmark border out-post noticed two terrorists moving in Pakistani territory near the IB at around 6.30 am.

Pointing out that they were proceeding towards Indian side, sources said that as they reached near the border, BSF troops opened fire forcing them to retreat.

Following this foiled infiltration attempt by terrorists, Pakistan Rangers restored to firing on the Indian side. The BSF retaliated but there was no casualty or damage to the Indian side.

In view of the arrival of Prime Minister, BSF and army troops have already been maintaining high alert along the borders with Pakistan.

There were also intensified security measures along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

Later, Prime Minister inaugurated a 230 bedded super speciality hospital at Kakriyal near Katra.

The hospital has been constructed at the cost of Rs 300 crore by Shrine Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
