RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday cautioned Sangh workers not to deflect from their path because there is a conducive environment for Sangh ideology in the country.

“It doesn’t take much time for situations to change. There was apathy (towards Sangh), it has gone now. There was opposition, it has gone now. But we have always kept walking. Now that our condition has changed, we have to make sure that our direction remains the same. Apathy and opposition kept us alert. Now, there is a conducive environment all around, so we have to ourselves make endeavours to remain alert,” Bhagwat said, addressing a gathering of Sangh workers and leaders at the organisation’s new headquarters, Keshav Kunj, at Jhandewalan in Delhi.

The Sangh celebrated the day as Praveshotsav and the event saw participation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister J P Nadda, apart from RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, Joint General Secretaries Krishna Gopal, Arun Kumar and Alok Kumar, among other senior RSS functionaries.

“The Sangh work in the country is gaining momentum and is expanding. Today, we have to make the Sangh work as grand as the grandeur of this renovated building… Our work should reflect that,” Bhagwat said.

“We have full faith that this work will reach the entire world and will make India Vishwa Guru (the world leader). And we have faith that we will see this happening… But the volunteers of the Sangh will have to make efforts for this. We will have to continuously expand the work for this,” he added.

For the past eight years, the RSS had been functioning out of the Udaseen Ashram in Jhandewalan which it had rented to allow for the construction of the headquarters. Sources said Sangh functionaries began shifting to the new building gradually from September 2024 and have now completely vacated the Udaseen Ashram even though in some parts of the new headquarters interior work is still on.
