Illegal Indian Immigrants Return Live News Updates: A military aircraft from the United States carrying over 100 deported Indian immigrants landed at Amritsar's Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier, the aircraft was expected to land in the morning. The flight's arrival drew an unusually large crowd, prompting heightened security measures at the airport. Who is on board? The deported individuals include 25 women, 12 minors, and 79 men. In addition to the deported Indian nationals, the aircraft will have 11 crew members and 45 US officials onboard. Besides Punjab, the deported individuals are from Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Among the deportees, 33 are from Gujarat, while 30 belong to Punjab. Two deportees each are from Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh, while three are from Maharashtra. Special arrangements: Punjab Police have increased security at the airport. The Punjab government has reportedly arranged minibuses to transport people back to their places in the state. The Punjab DGP, Gaurav Yadav, stated that in a meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, it was decided to welcome the deportees in a friendly manner and set up counters at the airport for assistance. The state police are in constant touch with the central government and will scan any past criminal records of the deportees on-site. Chief Minister Mann assured all possible help will be provided to them.
