One militant killed in gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara
A joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army cordoned off the village of Krumhoora in Kupwara following inputs of militants' presence.

One militant has been killed in a gunfight with a joint team of security forces in the frontier northern district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.
Police sources said a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army laid a cordon around the Krumhoora village of Zachaldara in Handwara after inputs about the presence of militants in the village. They said they expect two militants to be hiding in the area.
As the joint team of forces conducted searches, the militants in the area opened fire on them, leading to a gunfight, said sources.
“Encounter has started at Krumhoora Zachaldara area of Handwara. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Zone Police posted on X.
