The Gujarat government on Thursday transferred 10 police officers with Indian Police Service (IPS) ranks, and two State Police Service (SPS) officers, amid the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that is in place for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. The transfers include two officers, who have returned to the home cadre from the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Gagandeep Gambhir has been posted as Inspector General (Administration), Gandhinagar by downgrading the cadre post of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) to Inspector General of Police (IG). Gambhir, along with Raghvendra Vats, has recently returned to the home cadre and were awaiting posting. Vats has been appointed the Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Surat city.
Sharad Singhal, who had also been waiting for a posting, has been appointed the JCP (Crime) for Ahmedabad city, upgrading the post from Additional Commissioner of Police.
Singhal takes over from Neeraj Kumar Badgujar, who has been appointed the Additional Commissioner of Police Sector-1, Ahmedabad. Ajit Rajian, who was the Ahmedabad DCP Cyber Crime, is posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) in the city. Lavina Sinha will take over charge of the Cyber Crime from Rajian.
Former DCP Ahmedabad Crime Branch Chaitanya Mandlik, who had been waiting for a posting since being relieved from the post in March this year, has been appointed the Superintendent of Police CID Crime of the Anti-Radicalisation Cell.
Himanshu Kumar Verma, has been appointed as DCP Zone-1 of Ahmedabad city, after being transferred from the post of SP State Traffic Branch-1, Gandhinagar. Manish Singh has been appointed SP Motor Transport (Gandhinagar) and Usha Rada will take over as Commandant of State Reserve Police Force Group-6 in Sabarkantha.
State Police Service officers Rupal Solanki and Bharti Pandya have been appointed the staff officers in DGP office and SP Technical Services, respectively, in Gandhinagar.
Five IPS officers of 2020 batch — Bishakha Jain, Raghav Jain, Jitendra Agarwal, Nidhi Thakur and K Siddharth — were granted the Senior Time Scale.
K Siddharth, as the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dahod, has been leading the investigation into the alleged case of the bogus government office of the Project Administration department of Dahod.
