Gold Rate Today: The price of gold in India today, as of August 20, Wednesday, stood at approximately ₹ 10,015 per gram for 24-karat, ₹ 9,180 per gram for 22-karat, and ₹ 7,511 per gram for 18-karat gold—all reflecting modest declines of roughly Rs 60, Rs 55, and Rs 45 respectively from the previous day.
Gold and jewellery demand traditionally surges during festive seasons like Ganesh Chaturthi, Navaratri, and Diwali. However, record gold prices in India have led to cautious purchases.
Gold, considered an ideal inflation hedge, has volatile prices amid rising economic uncertainty and Trump’s tariff tensions.
