Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the first such meeting on the Union Territory since the Assembly elections were held there during September-October. Before the review meeting, he met J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director (IB), RAW Chief, Chief of Army Staff, GOC-in-C (Northern Command), DGMO, Chief Secretary & DGP of J&K, heads of CAPFs and other senior MHA officials attended the review meeting. Addressing the meeting, Shah said, “In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against terrorism, we will achieve the goal of ‘terror-free Jammu and Kashmir’ at the earliest and all resources will be made available for this. The Modi government, with the joint efforts of all security forces, is committed to establish complete dominance over terrorism in J&K.” Shah said the unprecedented participation in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections shows that J&K people have full faith in the democracy of the country.
