Four teenagers run over by Vande Bharat in Purnia ‘while making reels’

According to officials, the incident took place when five teenaged boys were allegedly shooting reels of oncoming trains along the railway track.

Four teenagers were run over by the Jogbani-Danapur Vande Bharat Express in Purnia on Friday morning.

According to officials, the incident took place when five teenaged boys were allegedly shooting reels of oncoming trains along the railway track.

Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northern Frontier Railways (NFR) confirmed the four deaths and said, “We received information at 4.54 am today about the runover by Jogbani-Danapurb26301 (Vande Bharat Express) between Purnia and Kasba railway stations… It is suspected that they were making social media reels on the track when the incident took place.”

Local watchman Mohammed Habibuddin said three bodies had been taken for post-mortem examination when they died en route to the hospital. Two were rushed to the hospital, but one of them died shortly after arrival. The identities of the victims are being ascertained, officials said.
