Farmers Protest Delhi Chalo March Highlights: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open a channel of communication with the farmers and resolve their issues. He also issued a statement in the evening accusing the Centre of ignoring farmers’ genuine demands, leaving them to languish on the roads instead of addressing their grievances. Sandhwan emphasised that the Centre must take decisive action to resolve the issues without unnecessary delays.

Sarwan Singh Pandher of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) Monday announced that there will be no Dilli Chalo march by farmers on Tuesday, in view of the Haryana Government’s promise to resolve the farmers’ issues through talks. After considering all the aspects, Pandher said, the farmers’ leaders will decide the next course of action this afternoon.

What has happened so far? Two days earlier, the Dilli Chalo march was suspended following tear gas shelling. After the farmers started the foot march on Saturday, they were halted by the multilayered barricading erected by the Haryana Police. Following this, tear gas shells were lobbed and water cannons were aimed towards the farmers to disperse them, injuring five protestors. As many as 101 farmers from Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and SKM groups are among the protesters.

Meanwhile: BJP posts video of ‘Sheesh Mahal’ where ex-CM Arvind Kejriwal lived, calls him ‘Delhi ka millionaire’ in rap song

Calling it “Sheesh Mahal”, the BJP has released a four-minute video giving a tour of the Civil Lines bungalow where AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal lived when he was the Delhi chief minister.

The BJP also shared a rap song “Delhi ka millionaire”, highlighting the allegations of corruption against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and ministers.

The video of the bungalow, shared by Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on X on Tuesday, begins at its gate and proceeds to show a well-equipped gym and a spa-cum-bathroom, among other facilities. It also highlights a chandelier installed inside the washroom area, a massage table, a Jacuzzi, and a sensor-equipped shower.
