The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted a series of coordinated raids in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir and Telangana as part of an ongoing investigation into counterfeit currency allegedly linked with Pakistan. According to the NIA, “extensive searches were conducted at five locations in Bihar and one each in Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana as part of the NIA investigations into a fake currency racket operated by accused and suspects from Nepal by using crypto currency”.

Raids were conducted in districts such as Patna, Bhagalpur, and Bhojpur in Bihar, Anantnag in Kashmir and Hyderabad in Telangana.

“Cash amounting to Rs 1.49 lakh along with digital devices including pen drives, mobile phones, SIM cards etc., was seized during the searches. The team also recovered several incriminating documents,” the press note said.
