For the second time in a week, a NEET coaching student in Rajasthan’s Kota has gone missing after leaving a note mentioning studies.
Originally from Bihar, the 19-year-old was preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (undergraduate) for the last two years while living at a paying guest accommodation in Kota. His younger brother had also moved in with him a month ago, police said.
This year’s NEET – the national undergraduate medical entrance exam – was held on May 5.
It was at around 1 am Sunday, a week after the exam, that the student departed from his room after leaving a note that said: “My exam didn’t not go well. Find me around Kota Barrage.” After the landlord informed police, a missing persons case was registered. The family has also been informed and the student’s father reached Kota later in the day.
Police searched for the 19-year-old at Kota Barrage as well as at the railway station, and said they were hopeful of finding him soon.
Kunhadi police station SHO Arvind Bhardwaj said the student was good in studies and had scored well in exams. “He was stressed out after giving the exam. His younger brother said that when he opened his eyes at 2 am, his brother was not in the room… We are continuously working on the case. We are investigating the matter by looking at CCTV footage. We are hopeful that the student will be found soon,” Bhardwaj said.
