Former US President Donald Trump’s re-election has injected a fair mix of continuity and unpredictability. There are many variables that are different from his first term, and there are new challenges with two wars ongoing in the world, and a rising and assertive China. His approach to the Indo-US ties is also being keenly watched.
To make sense of his stunning victory, his path to the White House, his agenda in the second term, there are myriad questions on everyone’s mind.
Was Trump’s win a surprise? What does his Cabinet picks mean? What will Trump’s immigration agenda mean for Indians? Will Trump’s America First policy mean tariffs and trade barriers for India? What will be the impact on China’s assertive behaviour? Will Quad survive? Will Trump be able to stop the Russia-Ukraine war? Will Trump be able to bring peace in West Asia?
To answer and explain some of these questions, at the latest session of Express Explained.Live on “Trump 2.0: What it means to India and the world” on November 28, The Indian Express has invited former Indian ambassador to the US Arun K Singh, a keen observer and insightful analyst of the evolution of the US politics and Indo-US bilateral relationship over the years.
