Election Commission to meet all its observers on March 11

Soon after the meeting, the EC is expected to fly to Srinagar for its review of preparations for the elections in J&K. The EC’s visit to the UT on March 12 and 13 is likely to be its last visit to a state or UT before polls are announced.

With the announcement of Lok Sabha elections expected soon, the EC will be holding a meeting for all its observers - police, general and expenditure observers - on March 11.

The EC Friday met Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla to review the security arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections, sources said.

The EC also met Railway Board Chairperson Jaya Verma Sinha on Friday as a part of its review of preparations, a source said. With the announcement of Lok Sabha elections expected soon, the EC will be holding a meeting for all its observers – police, general and expenditure observers – on March 11. After the briefing in Delhi, the around 2,000 observers will be sent to the respective constituencies.
