A day after 12 Maoists were killed in an encounter, a 25-year-old woman, who had gone to collect tendu leaves, was killed in an IED blast under jurisdiction of Gangaloor police station in Bijapur district Saturday.

The victim, Shanti Punem was a resident of Mallur village. The incident took place around 20 km from the Pidia village where the encounter on Friday took place. Of the four civilian casualties, three men were killed in Gangaloor and one in Mirtur. All these incidents have taken place from April to May.
In November last year, two villagers who worked in an iron ore mine were killed and another injured in an IED blast at Amdai hill in Narayanpur district in Bastar region.
Meanwhile, Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav said they have identified all the 12 Maoists killed in the encounter and they had a total reward of Rs 31 lakh on their arrests.
