Swine flu: Central govt to file affidavit in Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court asked the Central government to file an affidavit regarding measures taken by it to check the spread of swine flu.

The Bombay High Court asked the Central government to file an affidavit regarding measures taken by it to check the spread of swine flu in the country.

V P Patil,a Mumbai-based lawyer, has filed a PIL,alleging that government’s response to the spread of swine flu was not adequate.

Patil alleged that screening of passengers arriving at the international airports was not strict enough. “In China, every passenger coming from outside is screened, whereas here the passengers coming from only certain western countries are screened. We should have had a universal screening,” Patil said. The Centre has been asked to file reply by one week.
