SC asks Cops to protect widow who married Hindu man

Responding to her plea,a bench of Justices Altamas Kabir and Cyriac Joseph directed the Delhi police to provide necessary protection to Sharma’s widow Anchal Sharma,alias Amina,who has moved the apex court seeking among other things seeking a CBI probe into her husband’s death,transfer of the trial outside Jammu and Kashmir and Rs 50 lakh compensation for his death.

The apex court said the Delhi police would provide the widow all protection as and when she makes a formal representation and posted the matter for further hearing to November 27 when the plea for CBI probe is expected to come up.

Counsel Pinky Anand appeared on behalf of the widow and mentioned the matter before the bench.
