RTI activist shot dead in Thane

An RTI activist has been shot dead at Virar in Thane district,police said here today.

Premkumar Jha (45),who had sought details about construction activities in Vasai-Virar belt,was shot on Friday at Gurudatt Nagar while he was riding a motorcycle,they said.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead,police said.

Jha’s son Mihir has filed a complaint with Virar police station,following which a murder case has been registered against an unidentified person,police said.
