11-year-old raped,killed; two held

The minor's neighbour took her to a farm village and sexually assaulted her.

A 11-year-old school girl was allegedly raped and killed in the neighbouring Bhandara district of Maharashtra,police said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday when the minor’s neighbour identified as Ankush Gajbhiye took her to a farm in Dhusala village and assaulted her sexually,they said.

Gajbhiye later strangulated her to death and burnt her body in a pile of hay with the help of a friend.

The episode came to light when the girl did not return home following which her parents and police launched a search.

The accused duo have been arrested,police said.

The body has been sent to Bhandara Civic hospital for postmortem and further investigations are on.
